Thumbs up

Currently i have 4 10" JL Subs in the back of my FD powered by a MTX 2200 AMP and a older like 1995 Clarion head unit, Also the Mids are upgraded but not amped yet. No i dont have any trunk space at all. It's all in a custom box in the back. The thing is i was talking to one of my friends who works at this new stero shop near me and they are currently looking to sponsor my car. They are working with this new company called heliux and they make some crazy amps like 4000 watts and very small. So they are talking about putting 4 Eclipse titanium 10" sub's in and using 2 helix amps to power those plus the mids, which they are changing to Eclipse as well. And then droping a Eclipse head unit in to finish it all off. They are doing a complete custom box as well. I think see throu with 4 neons that will bounce too the bass and controled by a switch. Since i wanted to be able to race they said they would try to make the box removable with not to much trouble. So what do you guy's think? I also wanted to know where i could find a plexi glass back window for a FD since this would prob blow the glass one out. Sorry this was so long.

you would have to have ine made as far as i know, the rear window of an fd is NOT straight obviously, so you may try and find a place that makes custom plexi pieces to fit in your stock window location. if the car is JUST for show then why replace it? if they are using your car for actual sound competition, i feel sorry for it . it will damage more than the window, 1000 watts blew my friend's trunk in a 96 impala with it already being reinforced, so two 4000 watt amps would do considerably more damage to your car. make sure you know what they plan to do with it before you ok everything.

lol--im lmao at papa smurf,I compete in idbl last year i posted 153 dbs with 3 jlaudio12w3s d6 with 2400 watts. And guess what im using the original glass in the back.during serious comps,i actaully use a tie down strap on the back to keep the sound pressure in.How did your boy blow a trunk with a lock on it?????????--unless the car had issues and the trunk would come up if you hit a bump.and at only 1000 watts at that. And back to the subs your wanting to put in the car--why eclipse---those are sq subs not sp if your going for sound quality--thats major overkill with you not having the proper components in the car .take one jl 12w7 run 2000 watts to it and take 4 of the eclipse 10s run 4000 to those---i will take the jl any day Its been proven at every contest i have seen, competed in that for the money that sub is the best on the market.

well i quess i could do that. What's the most powerfull 10" sub out there. I'd like to keep the 10s. And your saying i dont need to re-place my glass that's good. Why dont you like the Eclipse sub's? And they wernt goin to use 2 4000 watt amps i it was more like a 2000 watt ( 500 to each sub ) and a 1500 watt ( evenly distribed with the mids ). I was just sayin that, that heliux company has 4000 watt amps.

you need to be dropping in some POWER HE-2 subs from rockford. those things mean budiness. however, they are heavy. i believe that they are clse t 45# each. the magnet is a ******* HOSS. yu can not g wrng with eclipse head units, as i have said before, they are the ****, they were a small part of me winning the 1997 car audio nationals.

why so many subs? 2 of those power he2 10's will be more than sufficient, and trust me, you can bridge ONE of those amps on the pair and be more than satisfied with the pressure level.

to make the car look good, you will definately need to have some custom painted fiberglass work done, and some beveled and polished plexiglass work will make a nice touch as well....

i will post some pics of my set up when it is done....we are making the fiberglass base/surround to the in car box as it sits now...

Subs are all about your taste, everyone has there own brand they love.I base mine off what i have owned and heard--Not just a popularity contest.R x plicit came up with some nice subs. But there excursion is not that great and will melt down if you overload them for a long period of time.If its tens your wanting, try some mmatts pro cast --those things fuckn hit hard as hell and i do mean hard.with high *** excursion.the jlw7 10 1.5 and maybe a crystal 10 if you can find them. Most of those subs will cost you a arm and a leg but there worth it.---and he also brought up a good point --dont expect to win may drag races with a nice system, thats alot of weight --hell i probably got 70 pounds alone in wire.

loudazz is right, not everone will like the same things...

i honestly will tell you that i LOVE boston products. their newest subs are very clean, and are pretty efficient with the power that you put on them. the also just released a new high end series that is very $$$$$$ but sound amazing. they are about 1K for a pair, and the tweeters are set in the driver itself, and the most improved midrange that i have seen in a while....

the mmats subs are very nice, heavy too, i just suggest the things that i knwo are tried and true. i have won too many car audio shows and one national first place to suggest any BS product, so i hope that you do not think that i would steer any of you in the wrong direction...

Thanks for all that info. I dont exspect to go out and win drag events. If i can still some what light and still kick that's cool. Long as i'm still killin the local ricer buys i'm happy. And the fastyest one of them is pullin a 12 and they all have 12's in the back too.

a ricer pulling 12's is nto a ricer. more like 16's due to the excess weight of the wheels and wings with no enine mods.... 12's is someone who actually wants to race..
