I've had really good luck with the Meguires 3 Step system. A couple years ago I used it on my 85 XR4Ti and it came out looking excellent for a 15 year old paint job. This was right before an Import Ford show and i got the people's choice award. It took me about 5 hours to do all 3 steps though.

1: Cleaner

2: Polish

3: Wax

I'd also recommend Meguires Soft Wash Gel car wash. I used to sell the 3M Finesse it and Perfect it products when I sold auto parts, but the price was a little steep for my tastes if I didn't get an employee discount. Not to mention they're more of a paint finishing compound used more in body & paint shops.

Some 3M stuff can be had in good auto parts stores, otherwise check a local detail supply or body supply shop.

all the stuff these guys carry is great. it's the **** a lot of fellow rx7 owners use on their cars. they carry 3M, pinnacle, and some other stuff. it all depends on how much $ you spend and how **** you are.

I use mother's wax and meguiars quick finish spray but i'm getting the pinnacle car care kit once my wax runs out.

I'd recommend Zaino Bros. if you're truly dedicated to your car's cappearance, year-round, and are willing to spend a day with your baby. Zymol is nice and easy, good results, but I don't really like the liquid wax stuff, hard to apply evenly, though it tends to even out when you pay attention to its application. Mequiar's, prolly the best bang for buck, and easiest to attain. Good stuff, and I've never even used all the treatments. Never heard of Blackfire, and never seen the 3M stuff, but I'll check them out. I'd say meguiar's. if you're not satisfied then dip into the bank account and go for something fancy.

Clay bar i good if when you run your hand across the paint you feel dirt even after the car has been washed.

3M is pro quality stuff, its really not over the counter material and is designed for pro use by machine.
