Too bad the old infaltable GM spares wouldnt fit on the car

Few things about run flats:



A) THey do go flat

B) When they go flat, they are irrepairable

C) Irrepairable = buy a new one

D) DOnt throw the donut out, save it for when youll have to wait a day or more until your replacement runflat tire arrives in stock or at your houses.

dont all the run flats require a pressure monitor device as well?

its hard to tell in that picture, but the spares were really flat and had a can

that would inflate the tire to full size

I was under the impression that they are a disposable tire, in the event of a flat you had just under 200 miles to get to a distributor to buy a new tire, i didn't think they could be repaired.

Yes I have read that too, a sensor is needed because they say you couldn't tell if you had a flat without the sensor, until it was too late.



Wow, this is becoming more of a chore than I had planned initially, I would rather not spend a thousand dollars on tires since the Bfg's I have are practically brand new, but putting 5 or 6000 miles on the car and being away from everything familiar for weeks at a time makes me feel like I need something to depend on, just in case.

I would keep the spare, a can of fix-a-flat, and a tire plugger kit if I was going on a drive like that.



You know it will be 3am if and when a tire goes



If you have everything, you will not get a flat



I would also join AAA.

I have AAA, hopefully my nationwide cell phone coverage will work in the area I might get a flat, fat chance probably! lol



Has anyone had any luck with fix-a-flat? I realize it only works for certain types of flats, but having as many means at my disposal can't hurt, can it?

fix-a-flat i hate, mainly cause people seem to always do it, then it doesnt work, then i have to take the tire off, spill the **** on me, wash it off the rim and inside of the tire (it eats the inside of your tires), and then smell that **** on me all day.



its really only good for very small nail holes, and you have to fill the tire with air because you have to put the fixaflat in and then drive around with it in the tire so it can activate.



i prefer just carrying around the plug things, if they dont work they at least slow it down drastically.

one of those little ciggarette powered tire inflaters and a tire plug kit might be your best bet
