Is this a hood they make and sell for an FD or is it customized?
http://www.bomexaero.com/images1/kanprfd/IMG_0756.jpg |
I THINK its a bomex hood..
|
Where it looks black on that hood is it just open for **** to fall in or is that like black mesh? Thanks!
|
It may be Bomex, but definately a copy of the TRD Supra hood. If it follows suit with the TRD hood there will be mesh there so it's a true vented hood without having gaping holes in your hood. But why in the hell would someone disgrace an FD with one of those. If you wanted a vented hood there are soooooooo many choices out there that actually look good and function better than most people would believe! For example, you have Scoot Sports, MazdaSpeed, KnightSports, RE Amemya(sp?) and even a few other lesser known brands. Sorry for going off, but I hate that ricer looking shyte!! Laterz.

Now I never said I was going to buy the hood,I like the front of that bodykit though.
|
That hood is actually very very nice and functional, the only problem with it is TFATF!!!
|
That is very true Scre they had to **** everything up.
|
Didn't they? Those two movies brought WAY too much light onto our world and it has ruined it for all of the guys who are really into racing imports.
And by the way, I'm pretty sure that the front end on that FD is Bomex. If not then an older version of the Feed front end. And I wasn't flaming you for the hood. Just venting, that's all. |
Ya your right that hood wont vent as well as the royal Scoot hood,I think the hood looks pretty good though.I think it makes the front of the 7 look not as long as it really is.Hey do any of you people know someone who has a two color painted scoot hood?As if the venting in part was one color than the rest another color? There best not be another part 3 of this F&F bullshit.
|
that hood is very very very ulgy. The shapes cut into it do not flow well with the car. sorry
|
I made that hood last week. It's pretty good, functional as well. It took me 6 hours to cut those peeces out and another 30 min or so to put the mesh grill. I Like the way it looks on my Montego blue fd, but i'm just kind of thinking if it would be better to paint that mesh gril black or something. It's too flashy now.

BoOsTin FD do you have pics?
|
that hood is indeed bomex, but does anyone know a way to get ahold of it? bomex does not seem to offer it anywhere https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png
|
I will take some pics tomorrow of the whole car. I also tinted my front and side lights. I mean they were tinted before, but not as dark as now. I'll post pics tomorrow. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Why pay shitload of $ for it when you can make your own. Yeah it took me 6 hours to do it and i spent 11 bucks https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png. But it was well worth it. I don't care much about TFTF but i like the way it looks, plus when i sit in traffic I can see heat coming out the wents.
Get us pics! |

lol, Thanks man.
|
Amel,
Looks AWESOME man! Good work. How stable is it? Justin |
It's Really stable. It's like i haven't done anything to it. I had to cut the hood frame, but I got some sillicone that the body shop uses for connecting hood to frame, kind of like giving it more flexibility or something.
I put some of that stuff betwen the hood and the frame and i took it on the couple of runs, hard ones, no problem. It doesn't move, shake or anything. I went on highway and ran like 140mph nothing happend, so i know it's good https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png |
AWESOME.
