Dammit! My paint is cracking/peeling
#1
My brand new, less than 1 year old paint is starting to crack/peel on the front passenger side of the front bumper. Of course, It s partially my fault, as I slightly hit the rear of my friends car in that spot....but not THAT hard.
Is there anyway to stop the paint from cracking/peeling anymore?? Help please!

Hmmm, pictures will have to wait. I don't have a digicam, or know anyone who does. For now the only way to describe the cracking is that it right underneath the outside corner of the FTP lense, It hasn't peeled off yet, but the paint is lifted from the surface of the bumper and is spider-webbing outward. Right now the affected area is only about 2 sq inches.

Stop hitting the bumper, and it will stop peeling. Either have it fixed, or ask for some touch up paint and try to touch it up, as long as you STOP HITTING the bumper, the paint might not get any worse

Yeah, I knew I was going to get **** about hitting something. I BARELY tapped my buddys car! I really can't believe the paint is coming off! The bumper was redone a YEAR ago! I think it must have been a shitty paint job.
Its not noticeable to anyone else yet, but I noticed it and just want to stop it from getting worse. I took a toothpick and some epoxy, then I stuck a tiny bit of epoxy underneath the little pieces were lifted then pressed them back down. I did this just to stop the spreading.
Thanks for the advice on the paintshops. I'll be on the lookout now. What's a good paint? DuPont? PPG?
PS. SCREW MAACO. I'd never go to that **** *** paintshop
Thanks
Mike

Both, I believe are formidable manufacturers, however the best finish in the world wont work w/o proper preparation of the surface. Rob x7 lined it out: quality shop, quality products, quality workmanship= sweet paint job. The brake pedal will save almost everything else.
