Fedex dropped them off today, after a little more wet sanding and some polish work I will take them over to the tuner on Monday to install them on the car.



It will be great to have the newly remodeled tail lights and a correctly running car, tuned to the nut, to blast toward home down the freeway Monday afternoon!

 

I left the sanding and polishing up to you, I tend to leave the peel on smaller parts sprayed in Imron because they will stay looking like the day they were sprayed forever if you dont wet sand them



the fact that it was 95 degrees/100 humidity in the booth that day didnt help things either, got sime minor solvent entrapment but that will sand out no problem

 

I did sand the center section a bit for you though

 

It's all good, it's almost impossible to polish them off the car, unless you had a jig mounted to a workbench so as to bolt them down.



The surround needs almost no attention, the tails just need to be knocked down a little to suit my taste.

I have someone hold the lights for me when I buff them but I still get nervous I will launch one across the room like I did my ashtray when I polished that



I didnt want to get compound in the grooves either, your ******* wax killed me in there and I wasnt taking any chances!





Just keep the lights glazed, dont wax the *******



I hope your not nuts enough to try to polish around where the license plate goes?

lol, yeah i'm not taking any chances launching a tail light assy. across the garage, i'll have 'em in and out of the car a few times to get the compund out off all the grooves and whatnot.



The surround is pretty easy, install the plate, then i'm using gloss black lexan with flame polished edges and mitered corners to finish off the edges and maintain that gloss black, smooth as glass look.



of course pics will follow as soon as I get my car back to my garage.

Too many FC guys are flakes when it comes to things like this, it makes people that produce good products turn down the work 'cause they get left holding the bag, so to speak.
