Cool

As many of you that sympathized for me when I crashed my car there is something that might come good out of this deal. I went to get an estimate on the damages it come out to $5300 for all the stock parts. The guy said that he could hook me up and put a full body kit on instead of the stock parts.

Another thing is that he is storing my car for free right now because he thinks it will attract people to his business if my car is sitting out front. Do you think I should watch out for this guy being shysty or trust him. He is the owner of the business and hes been there a long time form what I know. I also need to get some I deas about body kits. Theres alot out the and theres a lot i don't like. I do like the C. Westin kit though. I am trying to get some pics of a border kit though too.

I live right down the street so will check on it every day plus I have the milage written down and we made sure that it will only be moved to the front of the shop during the day and stored during the night. I went ther last night the check on it and it was in a safe place locked up

Damn, your screwed, Vosko was the first to reply to your thread.. Now you're cursed.. too Late...

heheh Actually like Vosko said, don't be too quick to trust.. Make sure his shop is insured to incase someone were to Break in..

The shop were my Repu is kept at got broken into a while back and they got into a Mercedez M class that was being worked on, the whole Multimedia/soundsystem was stolen, Over $30,000 worth of stuff got taken, but the shop was insured, so it was covered. Not trying to get you nervous, but just letting you know.. It would be cool, to have that guy let you use your car as a sort of business card if he hooks you up, but make sure you check how he does his work.. If he's been in business for a long time maybe he has a portfolio of past work or old customers might stop by.. Talk to them..

Make a list of stuff your car has, and let him know about it, so they don't try any sneaky ****.

He probably wants to get more into the sport compact market and is hoping that having your car outside will help. Tell the guy that a lot of friends that have imports are waiting to see how your car turns out and they will probably come in there if they like your car. This will maybe give them a little more incentive to make sure the job is done right.

A shop being around for awhile doesn't necessarily mean anything, I know of quite a few shops that are ran poorly but rip a customer so good the first time that they make enough money to keep on going. I personally have never been happy with anything I've had done at a bodyshop, I hope that changes the next time I have some work done.

I remember back in the day when I was younger and thought all

the shops were going to drive my car around and beat on it when I

left it somewhere. I would retard the timing so the car wouldnt run as

good and fast, stay with the car while it was being worked on, tell them it didnt run and push it in the shop. Then I got older and realized that they could care less about beating on a car. You honestly think a shop wants to bother beating on a car while its at thier shop? What if something breaks? You think they want a angry customer coming there making a scene?

Any good shop will treat your car with care and respect, they dont want

to break it, and they want you to come back and reccomend them to other people. Stop being paranoid. Disabling a car before you bring it to a shop only makes them pissed off they have to push the piece of crap around the shop to work on it or move it.

However - it would not be unheard of to have someone take a "joyride" in your precious car. think of how many young guys work at that shop, and how much the owner *could* be away.. Write the mileage down, and that should be good enough. If there's more than a mile or two on the odo when you get it back, raise hell!

I take the plates off the car when my FD goes in. If it's even parked on the street she'll get a ticket. Also, the shop I go to is nice enough to indulge my paranoia and they agree to keep the car on their property at all times, and pull it inside at night. good guys, good work, but they charge an arm and a leg!
