The tape player and radio part of the head unit works but the cd player part does not work. Is it possible just to change the cd player?

Hopefully everyone already knows this, but you can pop the old CD player out without removing the dash -

On the very sides (L/R) of the CD and the Tape units, there are black trim covers. Pop these out (there's no tabs, just pull 'em out). Underneath you'll see a pair of small holes. Go and get a coat hanger, cut a pair of 6" sections out of it and bend them into a U shape; try to make them equal length on both sides of the U. Insert the U into the holes on both sides simultaineously to release the locking tabs. It might take some finessing. While pushing outward on the U's, grab the head unit by the face and pull straight out. It will slide out.

I have resurected this thread, because I have not had any luck finding just the cd player part for sale. If anyone has a link or knows of anything where I can locate just the cd part that can replace the stock bose cd part without changing the whole head unit please let me know. Any help would be tremendously appreciated.
