i belive after the F1 was out of production (of course it was sold out, before it was built) the fastest car became the Mercedes-BenzCLK-GTR
also if i am not mistaken, the new FERRARI FX ,,,due out in 2004 will be the next fastest production car,,,just my $2.00
What's a Ferrari FX? I've only heard of the Enzo...which looks pretty nice, but can it really top the Callaway Sledgehammer? It went 254.7 MPH.
From what I understand, the turbos melted so the car didn't go any faster.
As far as the Callaway goes, we are talking about production cars here, not extremely modified production cars. The Sledgehammer is just a massively modified Corvette.

Thanks Vosko!
I know we're talking about production cars, I just thought it was quite amazing that a street car like the Sledgehammer could go that fast.
And that Lingenfelter (I think) Corvette that raced the F18 is just amazing.
What I don't remember is what kind of tires they used to do 0-60 in 1.9 seconds.
