Take vitamin C, and lots of it. Take 1000 mg ever hour for 5-6 hours a day. It helps alot.

I just try to drink tons of fluids, and constantly remove whatever congestion you have (chest, or head). I always try to spend some time lounging outside; there's no need to breath the same contaminated air over and over. Rest actually makes a huge difference, for me anyway. I was sick for I think 2 days, pretty bad feeling. I took a day off work, and slept allll day. I was almost all better by the next day.

My recipe for speedy cold recovery combines a lot of these suggestions.

1) Take vitamin C, and E won't hurt, either

2) Drink tons of fluids--juice and water

3) Get a LOT of rest, eight or nine hours a night, at least

4) Don't exercise strenuously. Take a couple days off. Rest. A leisurely walk is okay.

5) Eat garlic, preferably raw garlic. It is good for you and will keep other sick people away from you because you will stink!
