I got a neat desk thing for christmas that has a digital thermometer, now I can confirm how hot it is....right now, around 60 and clear outside, my thermo say 79 in my office. I'm about to break a freakin sweat. the building is from the 1950's, and I think the ac is too.

I think my building has just the option of hot and cold...it's never off...once it was off, and I felt like the langoliers were coming, with the absence of the constant drone...and when it started back up, you'd swear a 747 was taking off in the hallway

Ours is just a dial with hot on one side and cold on the other...our building is water heated and cooled with forced air units...it's kinda neat.
