I had a garage sale today. Nothing fancy. Just sold a lot of junk laying around after I moved. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. People would come up and ask "how much?". You tell them" I don't know, $10", and then they start the bargaining ****, which is okay, but when they fight you down to $8 and hand you a $10 dollar bill anyways, that pisses me off. I had one guy ask how much every ****** little thing was, then settles on something for 25 cents, and tries to give me a 50 dollar bill I saw the ****** pull a dollar out with the 50, but he said he didn't have anything smaller. I just sent him away with the **** free so he would go away. I could go on but it would be a very long post. I'm never selling anything again. I'll just throw the **** away

You guys are all so much more tolerating than I am. I'd pry take the $50, thank him for the generous tip, then tell him to get off my property.

we just give all our stuff to goodwill, it's a lot easier, and slightly gratifying.

Well we did it again today with a little less frustration, but I swear that I will never do it again. I had some cheap *** steal something that I only told him I wanted a dollar for! I guess I am overall kind of happy. We made about $300 and still have some stuff we are taking to the homeless shelter tommorow. It sucks that I couldn't sell a set of 2 brand new 17 inch tires or a set of rx-8 rimsfor cheap(hint hint)

Yeah but then don't they sell it? So someone is still making money. That's what I don't get about some charities you give and they profit on it. ( I could be wrong I just thought they sold it after its donated). Where I'm from in Washington the goodwill has security cameras at the drop site so no one will take anything - to me that defeats the purpose - one individual want's to give to another who can't afford the item - but the one who can' tafford still has to pay for what is donated by another. Maybe I'm crazy - but doesn't make sence to me.

Okay now all of you can call me crazy - I like garage sales. Scott certainly thinks i'm nuts - when we moved from Washington to Florida we did one - it was kinda fun - nice to know someone can use some of our old stuff that is still good and not contributing to the local trash pile.
