Yell at cyclists?

So I've been road biking competitively since I was 16...rode with friends and a local team in high school, then onto my college team, and now on my own and with a local team again. Yes I wear spandex, shave my legs, ride an expensive bike, and Lance is my hero...

Over the past 8 years I've always had the occasional yell from a motorist...even if I was just minding my own business. "Hey ******!"..."Move over homo!",etc

I'm always one to obey traffic laws, stay in the shoulder as much as possible, and not be an annoyance to automobiles. But I still always get the occasional *******. But on the other hand its nice to have a female yell: "Nice ***!"

So tonight I get home early to put in a nice 30 mile cruise before the sun sets. Close to the end of the ride someone passes me and yells: "Boner!" huh? we can't even say full sentences now? wtf...I'm a boner? You're a boner? ...I have a boner? If he said it in a jolly voice I would have chuckled...but when I'm least expecting it, and someone yells in a derrogatory manner at the top of their lungs, it scares the **** outta me! lol.

A few weeks ago I was riding and some kids pulled up along side and yelled: "What the f*ck!" ummmm...what the f*ck? Thats all you could think of? At least think of something funny or intelligent to say

I can understand if the biker is being a dick and causing distraction while driving...But does anyone ever feel the need to yell at a cyclist for no reason?

Yes, they think they ******* own the road here on campus. They don't yield at lights or anything!

It's fudiculous.

I always give them the finger and throw everything in my car at them.

My friends call them names. They are like mid-trip entertainment.

Thanks for giving us something to do.

J/K - BTW - I usually just go by and think I really need to start riding again. I am not hard core I am really recreational I just have a Trek intermediate Moutain bike.

As do I.

I yield to bicyclist's on the roads. And I warn the oncoming traffic about them. I would just hate to see bright colored clothing and mangled bike in the middle of the road someday.

People just are not as clever as they use to be. Wait, I take that back, the general public is not clever.

Strangely enough I had a cyclist yell at me once. I was in downtown DC and i remember squeeling tires and the guys passes me and yells "nice drivin *******!" His mistake was picking the wrong FD to yell at cause I caught up with him two lights up and told him "keep pedaling that bike you fat ****, you got some more smart *** comments or do you want an *** whoppin:" True story.

Oh and since we are talking Monty, "Thats not an african swallow!"
