This has happened many times in my RX-7 and now recently in my Mini.
Last night and the night before I am in my mini and a truck like a Dodge Ram wants to race me at a light. I had the family in the car so it was a no go.
I have had it happened in my 7 and I usually ignore them until they annoy me then I'll just floor it in a gear and suck out their headlights.
Do these guys really think they have a chance. What does a full size truck run in the 1/4?? I am guessing they have probably beat the hell out of ricers and think a 7 is just another one.
I wonder if my mini could hang?

Rednecks. That actually happened to me today and the guy was in a dodge dually with fake cow ***** hanging from his trailer hitch. WTF? I dunno...
I dont know what the hell they are thinking, I mean, you may have a Hemi, but it weighs 3 times as much as my car...

um...sometimes they can win
2 lanes, right one merges into left up ahead. I'm in the right, slightly behind the truck in the left. I speed up, trying to pass him before they merge. He schooled me pretty bad. I might have made it, but I'm not too risky when it comes to running off the road. If it had been a long straight, I would've had him. I drive an F150 at work, they have huge torque, but after a few thousand RPM there's nothing left.

There's a couple guys running supercharged F-150 Lightnings at the track. Trust me, they ain't slow.
Also, I have recently driven a 2003 Dodge 250 with the Cummins Turbo Diesel. The acceleration on that thing is nothing short of amazing for a vehicle of that size. I suspect the hemi is even faster.
Yup. A lot of the newer trucks are for real. And there's nothing a good redneck likes better'n a truck what'll run faster than stink.
