Wouldn't It Be Nice...

...If you could choose from several options for the upcoming Rx7?...
Like, lets say:
2 Rotor Renesis Turbocharged
3 Rotor NA
3 Rotor Turbocharged
4 Rotor NA
Mazda could give them ultra-cool names like:
Rx7 Spirit R (For RENESIS)
Rx7 3-type (3t)
Rx7 Turbo 3-Type
Rx7 4R (or R4...woot)
I think, that they should keep the styling movement going...cept introduce a clear headlight look instead of pop-ups. That would be cool. They should do something to the taillights too. (Not that the FD isn't fine the way it is..but it'd be silly to release it the same exact way). Needs to keep some lines to keep the heritage going though..eh?
Or maybe..I can go to bed cause I am le tired. NE-Ways, whats the official news on a future Rx7? Any concrete details?

Funny you mention that. It made me think.
You have MANY choices for engine for any old shitbox, (Look at the Golf, 4 engines here now, 5 next year, about 7 in most European countries), yet sports cars, where the motor actually matters, rarely have any choices.
Look what Chevy could do, just by nabbing the various truck engines they make and putting them in car chassis.
275 hp inline 6 from the Trailblazer. Make a midsize, long hood, short deck sports car, ala 240Z, Opel GT, TVR or Jaguar E-Type.
Or a Miata buster, using the inline 5 cylinder 220 hp from the S-10 replacement (Colorado)
And 3 different compact V-8's, 285hp, 295hp and 325hp, any of which would work perfectly in a compact 2+2, say the size of the current Civic coupe. Hell, you could make all 3 engines optional, they probably drop right in place of each other.
All of this without taking even 1 sale away from the Corvette, as they would then be able to move it up a bit to ensure it was a Viper stomper.

You have a DAMN GOOD point TYSON (capitalized as is your name in posts)...That would be very interesting indeed....i'd like to see a coupla cars made and modernized again: RX-7(DUH), Taurus SHO (whoever said,"Let's put a V8 in a taurus!" is my kinda person)., Chevy Monza (little bitty car, little bitty weight, optional v8 w/5-spd from the factory), Escort EXP (with a REAL motor this time, maybe the turbo'd motor the cosworths get in Europe), Hell sell the Cosworth over here

Actually Chevy is taking some small steps that way. The GTO is a good start with the GTO and the CTS-V ( I think)
The GTO is just plain boring looking, but I'd buy the CTS-V if I was in the market for a mid-sized luxury sedan.
