Ok guys and gals, I want some feedback on this one. As you know, nopistons.net is where we currently host our pictures and it will soon be shutdown when I become unemployed. At this time we don't have the funds available to run nopistons.net and nopistons.com on the same server, I don't want nopistons.net dragging down the providesite servers with no return on the dollar.
That said, I have come up with a plan that if enough interest is shown would save nopistons.net and add some things to life here at nopistons.com.
Here is the idea:
Would you be interested in paying $5.00 to $9.00 per month for:
1) You own 5 meg website for hosting pics, a website whatever. It would https://www.nopistons.com/~username (number would increase if we got enough people to move servers to 25 or 35megs) BANNER FREE OF COURSE and hosted on Providesite.com's lightning fast servers.
2) Nopistons.com email address
3) Larger Avatar
4) Change your own title
5) Eligibility for monthly prizes
6) Access to private "Supporting Members Lounge"
More features to come....
Please keep in mind that not only would this help solve the issue of nopistons.net going away, it would help support Nopistons.com with the extra funds raised.
This is just an idea I am tossing if there is interest I will get the project started so that we will be all set when Nopistons.net goes away in April (at the latest). Keep in mind that nopistons.net going away has NOTHING to do with Nopistons.com, they are two totally separate ventures, nopistons.net is just a piece of junk box on my company's DSL line.
Please toss out your thoughts, suggestions, comments, etc.....

may i suggest something that could also boost up the time in which you could gather the appropriate funds? If you do make it a pay site make an option for a flat 12 month rate which you save say like $5, and then make the other option to pay monthly.
so say you ask $8 a month, instead of paying $96 for a 12 month span, perhaps a $90 option if paid in full would be available. This way you wouldn't be piecing together $8 afer $8 after $8, and best of all each month there's a small "boost" by the 12 month subscribers renewing
That's just the business plan i used to go by back in the day, prices were higher though on my site cause well i owned the market in my sector lol so I jacked prices up.
Now everyone out there if you say "hell no i dont wanna pay" consider this, how many sites allow image hosting? Now take all that number of sites and remove the sites that force banners, now remove the sites that don't allow outside linking, now remove the sites with popups, and then finally remove the sites where your address looks something like "www.geoshiite.com/shady/garden/inthebrook/bythemall/~*&#~username"....and how many hosting sites are left? Just about zip, zilch, zero, nada, etc. So this service in my eyes is well worth it for the 5Mb alone, then you get a chance to win stuff, a cool "nopistons.com" address, all kinds of neato ****.
Damn I think I should get paid for this sales pitch, going a bit off track hahaha.
Anyway time for mo' pimpin'.

Yea that's a great suggestion, we would definetely offer a discount for a one year up front. Yea you are totally correct there are soooo few image hosting places left, even the ones that went to pay format went broke. Of course nothing on Nopistons.com would change, everything would be as it is, just that we would offer the image hosting and website for people who want to pay a little.
Offsite linking would be allowed as well you could use any or our domains, nopistons.com, rx7forum.net, etc,etc....

big lump sums are the way to go on the internet, thats why when i made people pay i was doing fine while others were scraping up there $9.95 a month and not offering the lump sum payments . Wish i didn't dive out of that business i was making good money while sleeping lol best thing I ever did, but my girlfriend found it unattractive, i think she was jealous

LOL fuggin women. Yea definetely there would be one year discounts. Maybe even an extra meg or two of storage for people pay a year up front. Like I say, all the comments help, I just spawned this idea and anything you toss out will most definetely be considered.
