Does anybody else just want to take a sledge to their car sometimes, or is it just me?
I've been working on this idle problem for weeks now. I finally get the idle down but now it bounces between 500-1100. I just can't get this sucker whipped..... After I get the new DP/presilencer put on, I guess I'm gonna have to take it to a shop.... : ( |
Yea, I got that way with my Jeep a couple times, in fact it has a huge dent in the grill from a crow bar after I slapped the new motor in to find out the machine shope had plugged the wrong oil galley and spun all my fresh bearings....
|
it could be worse. atleast your car runs. if anyone can help you solve the problem its 13BAce. your better off driving the car to NJ to have him work on it https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR

Did you try letting it idle with the narrow range TPS unplugged? ?
Even when I have the single green plug at the front left of the engine bay(forgot the name) grounded I get a surging idle, which I don't understand. It's funny, the surging starts to level out, but then will start all over again with original tempo. Like the ECU is trying to adjust but can't. I'll give it a shot tomorrow. I'm too frustrated to mess with it anymore today. Ever notice how the last few steps of any long, hard task always seem to be the hardest. I shoulda posted in the 2nd gen specific, but I wasn't really asking for help at first. Just whining. |

HA HA I can just see it now, your only contact with the outside world is the forum. You could just order everything off the internet... damn not a bad idea now that you mention it. |

Honestly, nobody in Iowa bothered me until the other night. After some old guy in a huge Caddy tried to race me, some kids pulled up next to me, and the kid in the passenger sear kept saying: "Let me tell you...let me F'ing tell you." over and over...I felt like following them to see what the kid's malfunction was. I hope he wasn't talking ****...apparently he didn't see the NY plates. LOL |

hehe, sometimes I am glad I don't live in miami, but then when I am stuck behind 3 old people in ancient caddies going 14 mph in a 45 zone, I realize that my town isn't all that great either, not to mention driving around all night looking for a single car to race. and all the people on this forum live far away, so no fun get togethers for me =( (or free parts for that matter)
Sarasota, the town that cool forgot |
