08-13) 10:27 PDT SAN MATEO -- An off-duty San Francisco rookie police officer died after he accidentally shot himself during a party at his San Mateo apartment over the weekend, authorities said today.



"I believe he was at a party and sometime during the party the weapon was produced and discharged," Foucrault said.

 

I heard a story that a bunch of Toronto cops tried pepperspray on steaks at a barbeque once. Probably didn't try it twice.

 

Interesting. I recall many years ago, at a friend's apartment a certain gathering that included his brother, who is a federal agent. He took his .45 ACP pistol apart on the kitchen table, and then had a little trouble getting it back together. Everyone in attendance was pretty drunk. Fortunately, no rounds were fired.

 

Toronto 911 would make a great follow up series to Reno 911.
