You'll like this one:

What it doesn't mention is that food cravings go down, which is why it's possible to take in fewer calories. Maybe that's the magic.
Wow, that quote proved how its true (And something I NEVER DISPROVED) that the ATkins diet does decrease your body weight and the math formula of how it works.

But it doesn't say it doesn't affect any other area's (who would? Not anyone that supports it) and therefore is irrelevant to this arguement which further proves to me you have no clue who/what you are arguing against.

You can live to 80, never get a discease, and die quietly on the Atkins diet. And so can someone who smoked their whole life. But there are also smokers who die of lung cancer, or suffer from bronchitus, etc etc and the lungs are still affected even though you may smoke and be able to run 100 miles.

Same go's here. So proving to me that in 80 years down the road you are still alive and "feel" healthy proves nothing. And again,t hat wiill totally be off topic to the facts I am laying out, quoting, and simply can't talk first hand experience and neither can you cause we both don't have degree's, access to a lab, or the time and money to do it ourselves. So therefore we must rely on those that do, and experiences from those that have been tested. It's JUST>>>>PLAIN>>>LOGIC.

Ahhh, insults, the first line of weakness. Is my logic getting you angry? I suppose it would. You are not making sense.

Your body only stores it if you don't use it. Please, please ask every physician you know if your body does ANYTHING with carbs besides storing them as fat. Ask them if there's ANY POSSIBILITY that your body can use carbs under certain conditions. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

NEWS FLASH good old fashioned dieting IS A LIFESTYLE CHANGE. HELLO! Are you missing the concept that old fashioned dieting involves lots of excecise, movement, and "healthy" eating which in itself must be exercised continually therefore acting as a "Lifestyle" which most don't do and must CHANGE THEIR LIFESTYLE to get to.

Why do I need to explain? Want me to reitterate everything they are saying like you are? You are still using DOCTORS facts to back you up just like I am (Don't be a hypocrit) and anything ELSE you have that I don't is simply saying "I feel good and I am on the atkins diet".

Make sense and I'll start believing you. You think you "got me" but you are missing the big picture here.

Read, Slowly.
Yeah, your body only stores carbs if you don't use them. Maybe that's why I made the comment about everyone being marathon runners and being able to carb load. Oops, you missed that too. The bottom line is that almost everybody takes in more than they need. I already explained why that happens too. Maybe you should take the time to read, since you recommend it so much.

"Good old fashioned dieting" can have a few connotations. A diet is what you eat...look it up. It has nothing to do with exercise. The English language can only be a useful tool if you use it properly.

So let me get this straight. You believe the doctors that support your viewpoint, but not mine. (I mentioned that I was using the doctor's quotes because it was your style...did you miss that?) Brilliant. Also, you don't believe my personal experience as well as the personal experiences of others. Brilliant again. So what would it take to prove my point? Well, you'd have to try it, but you can't because you're closed minded, so....

Explain eating corn to me. Theres no real point to it. Its not the most flavoursome food in the world and when you eat it, it just comes straight out the other end untouched. Why bother eating it??
I didn't read this whole thread, so someone may have already answered this...

I'm arguing against your sheep-like logic. You only believe what you read and not the personal experiences of someone without an MD. Come on, it all started with you using some crap you heard from a nursing student. What kind of clout could that possibly have? None...plain and simple.

I'm asking you to show me research that the diet affects other bodily systems, not to keep hiding behind what you heard one time from some guy at the drug store. If you like quoting doctors, and I'm asking you to do it, why are you holding back?

"What is generalisations?" "Correct"

I think we should end it here, it's going in circles. I like Rx7's how about you?

Help me out how? I don't eat corn because I don't really like it, and it inflames connective tissue.

Is Ames in Iowa, or am I just showing my own stupidity? Anyways, if it is, then I'm saying I'm helping you (as an Iowan) because I'm promoting corn as an actual meal item. Thereby keeping people eating corn, thereby continuing to keep Iowa in business.

Ahhh...thanks fella! Yeah, Ames is in central Iowa. We get all of the thunderstorms that come through the state, and a lot of Norweigan hotties.
