In deep expression post where, why and how come you have this passion,intrigue,can't get enough of this incredible engine. From the first day of your introduction to the world of Felix Wankel to now. I'll reply my thoughts later after I get inspired by others.

Simplicty of design. It's just SO different. There's something about that sound.



Dunno but they certainly do inspire a huge amount of loyalty. If I had tons of cash I'd sit around and build 'em till I got good at it.

I won't lie...



The looks of the RX7 is what sold me.

The rotary engine is what kept me here.

I get a kick out of knowing things that other people don't know. Things that are regular, things you see every day but most people don't bother to undertand how they work. We didn't have auto shop in school, but we still learned about the piston engine in science class. So after years of being fed crap in school that I don't want to know, I'm now educating myself in stuff that I want to know about.



The rotory is the ultimate in unknown, powerful knowledge. Even the guys that have spent their whole lives "into cars" may know nothing of the rotary design. So I come here often, trying to suck up as much information as I can on this rotating thing under my hood.

When I was into 2TG Toyotas, the shop that sponsered me was instaling the RB Holley setup on some first gens. That was when I was bitten

i really dont know where this passion came from or when it really started. i know a few of my friends had first gens and they were fun to drive, looked great, had this engine that was like no other. i vowed id own when before i died. but since i was around ACVWs all time that need, desire kinda went in hibernation. so years later, there was this hot looking car and in the back it said mazda rx7(when FDs first came out, 93). then again, this desire was awaken, unfortunately back in the early/mid 90s, FDs were kinda expensive. so since i had my toy already didnt really look hard for one. then a few years later some more frinds of mines started getting first gens, so was like F*** it im gonna go out and find me a GSLSE a year or so later i found one worthy of ownership. a year later the engine died one me, a year and a half later i crashed it... so i decided to upgrade, and i did. so now im the happy owner of my second(but not last) rx7, finally an FD.



i think that about sums it all up...next year will start hunting for another GSLSE and/or a series 5 vert....unless i find a nice 75 repu(hint, hint)lol

The first time I saw an RX7,was a 3rd gen. I was captivated by the styling. I then learned of it's predecessors. I fell in love with all generations of the RX7. I then learned why it was so special. It's heart. The most magnificent peice of machinery ever created,the rotary. It's simplicity in design,3 moving parts,small displacement and huge power is absolutely mind boggling. How something so small and light can bring so much joy to one's life is unimagineable. I think we should all feel special that we have saved the rotary from certain death because we see the strong and better points in this set up over it's boinger forefathers. It's so simple it should have caught on elsewhere. But no. It's Mazda's motor now. It's our motor.
