just to clear up something from page 1, you can't run 87 octane in an LS1. It will ping even with 93 under certain conditions.

you imagine wrong, young one. forsooth my near stock gsl-se will happily run with single turbo fd's at thunderhill, nay even pass the noisy one

mike
if a tuned FB can handle just as well as a FD, why do automotive companies spend more money on a IRS when a cheap liveaxle will suffice?

You're missing the point, its not all about the machine, much more the driver..

You have so much invested in that car it would be a shame to abandon it now. The one giant hole I see in your mods is the lack a stand alone EMS. I think that will solve a lot of your problems.

It sounds like you are tuning it too agressive. Why are you driving around with your boost set to 17PSI??

You have a profec B. You can buy a little button that will switch it from low to high boost. I would set a low boost at about 12-14PSI and set a high boost for 17-18 PSI. Plus you should not have spiked like that anyway something else is wrong with your car.

I can run my car at a lot higher boost but set it to one bar for longevity. I was considering going back to dyno and try to get more RWHP than the 320 I have now but why??? So I can brag I have more RWHP or a really insane 1/4 time?? I will also end up with a blown engine. Besides at 320 RWHP I cannot get out of the hole well enough as it is what would another 50 HP do for me??

Keep the car drop a Mazda Refurb in like Vosko saidthen you have a 12 month warranty. Tune it to 18 PSI and rarely use it there. Run it all day long a 12-14PSI and it will last a long time.

Looking at that mod list you would be crazy to walk away from that car.

The last time I looked the Power FC was a standalone EMS.

WTF? What's with all these piston swap ideas? Are you people fucked out of your minds? And smurf, you sound like ******' Gheyson, "oh it's just a car...", get the **** over yourselves.

I say, get a reman so that you can rid yourself of your current particular motor and start fresh. After all, it's not the FD that's causing all this crap, it's only the engine that is failing. You have a strong car and it demands stronger parts to keep it running. People blow their tranny's because their engines simply over-power them.

Like Dave said, get a new engine and take it easy for a while. And get a new wireing harness while you're at it like Mike suggested.

That car is way to valuable to you to just throw it away for a Supra or any other car for that matter. (IMO as I understood you talking about it)

You're pushing the power envelope with that turbo and the street gas you're running. More boost would get you anywhere now, so maybe it's time to think about the next step, a 20B.

GM V8 engines. The LS1 is all aluminum so it's quite light.
