Low stress, eh? Not many people that own their own business that I could call "low stress".

I definitely like the franchise idea, but I'm not sure what you can get for $150k. At least the formula has been worked out for you and you can rely on their name.

Otherwise, you could invest the $150k strictly in income-producing securities and REIT stocks. Some of these will pay in excess of 10%, so that would give you around $15k per year. You could easily make less in business for yourself, and you'd probably be putting in 60-hour weeks.

I agree with the other poster here who said that your business needs to be something about which you are passionate. List your three favorite hobbies. One of them is your business idea.

What about opening an "OFFICE SPACE"

You would rent a cubicle with internet access, terminal, copier services. Have a Chantzi's next door for coffee breaks.

That's easy, Banzai. He opens a sperm bank. He's going to have to stock the shelves somehow.

Could you build a small self-storage place for that kind of money around there? Or buy an existing one?

Stress will accompany anything you invest your money in, the degree of stress will dictate how much money and time you throw at your investment. At least the money you have now should be offsetting the intrest accumulated on the loans for house, cars etc. Just let the interst earned from a low risk investment offset the interst charged from other financial obligations, that way you aren't losing ground. The optimum situation would be not only offsetting interest but making your entire payments from the return on your low risk investment.
