guess i'll clear this up.

NO FADGING WAY HACKERS WILL YELL "ROOT"....more often then not hacks that occur are not advertised to the global community. Hackers generally feel watched over by the government, that's why the only "hackers" (actually script kiddies, or crackers) that are caught are like 13-17 because they have to go gloat about the ****, in general the real hacking world would rather go unnoticed.

That goes true for most of the legit "hackers" ... crackers are the ones do what they do for bad (also known as blackhats). Crackers are the ones who originated the 'hax0r' lingo when they defaced websites. (mainly script kiddies, but some were very good with network security ... not all crackers are script kiddies) Ive known some very knowledgable defacers. And remember, if you want to be technical, hackers dont do bad stuff, so why would they get caught doing anything? But being the uber hacker you seem to be, i would be wrong right?

point being, you dont speak for the whole community...

Actually hackers do "illegal stuff" entering a network or system without prior approval of the owner is illegal, instantly by law. They do however refrain from making themselves readily known within a system, they don't plant viruses mess with settings and so on and so forth, like crackers, script kiddies, or any aol-ites. That's the big debate on what constitutes hacking, should it considered hacking at the moment a system is compromised or after something destructive occurs? (the debate is a lot like abortion now that i think about it hehe)

So as you proclaimed, you are wrong

As for me speaking for a whole community, you proved my point, you said yourself hackers don't go around making themselves known. therefore they don't yell root for no apparent reason, show me a hacker who does and i'd prolly point and laugh. i do however know that it is a rather exciting moment when all their hardwork culminates into that one moment and *wam* they unlock the key to the system, but it isn't so exciting that they go screaming "root" down the halls.

also as for your obvious sarcasm about me being an "uber hacker", quite honestly I don't really care about your opinion, or anyone elses. I know how to do things that I want to or have done, excuse me for showing people what the other side of the ball looks like instead of the whole "hackers are evil vile creatures who sit in a basement all day JUST TO GET YOUR AOL ACCOUNT!"

but i digress, hasta luego.

kevin.

edit: lol now that i re-read your reply again you seem to restate everything i say, then state i don't speak for the entire community, so I assume you do? well if you do you simply are saying what i said, so TECHNICALLY i do speak for it.

How's that for mind games .
