What Was Gm Thinking...

Oh lord, the windshield wiper recall Had to do that on all the shop rigs and my personal truck too. Sometimes it's a pain in the *** to buy American rigs!
I need some slotted rotors 15", bigger brakes, and some SS brake lines!
I damn near parked it into a barn, brake fade SUCKS!

[quote name='inanimate_object' date='Jun 26 2005, 12:59 PM']I don't see the big problem, if it saves GM money, it saves you money. And if you think that's bad, there were around 40 cars based on the old VW Golf's platform.

I dont think it's a bad thing necessarily, just a half-assed thing. Without the GM employee discount, that SSR would have run right at 50,000 USD, I have been all over that ride in the last week and have yet to see where the value is for the money. The splines could have been machined out of the rotors, the spare tire bracketry could have been cut out, as there is no spare, all the money that was spent, aside from the body design, is in the engine, trans, and the intricate convertible top. Those things aside, the rest of the truck looks like it was thrown together.
