I thought I was an alcoholic. Used to drink to get drunk 6 days a wk, and would drink most of the day throughout all that. Would drink at school and inbetween classes.



BUT



Joined the Army, and throughout the course of Basic training, schools, and deployments where alcohol isnt even accesible I learned that I didnt need it, nor was I even addicted to it.



I was what Rob said, just a kid with no responsiblities and nothing better to do than drink.

 

I thought I was a alkie, then I didnt have a drink for 4 years



there is a difference between being a kid and being a drunk, but the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem



sometimes its not a addiction to a substace as much as a addiction to the scene in which you are drinking- example: you know when your drinking in the bar/club that women are around, your with friends having a good timeetc..



when you drinking to get drunk alone you need to relax things a bit

 

When you start sucking dick for drinks?

 

When you affect the people around you.

Damn I should of thought of that. I did have a gay friend in his 40's that use to give me **** and pay for everything when we went out...out in groups with other straight people and woman.

 

well **** i drink everday, sometimes its 2 or 20 but not at work. about 4-5 years ago i went from bud to bud lite and that helped a lot on hangovers. Still smoke bud on weekends i will drink a beer right after waking up-but i still dont & cant drink like i used to.

I drink whenever the oppertunity presents itself. I did last night, but that was the first time this week other than a couple screwdrivers wednesday morning to help with a really bad day...
