I worked on one ship(steam) that had 35,000hp and 880 ft long(not much in the quarter mile, but once you got it going nothing was going to stop it.) Its was also full of bombs for the Dept of Defense.

No, the GEs are different engines(but we have those also.) The EMD(Electra Motive Diesel) is made by a division General Motors. Both of them are used by the railroads, although the EMD are used a lot more than the GEs. The 12 cyl I was working on last night has about 7748 cu. in. The turbo for one of them weighs more than a second gen RX7!
