I'll be in Syracuse in a couple weeks. I've seen them for $129 just about everywhere, so that's what I expect to pay retail.

ack no, nextel is the sux. they nearly went bankrupt a few months back. they over expanded and didnt have the capital to maintain their lines. careful with them. their service is very poor, and unless ALL your friends have a nextel, its not worth it. (if your friends all have nextel, its good cuz you can radio each other for nearly free)

just checked, yea thats the price to pay. though sprint service is very suspect. they have a lot of holes. but in some areas it works perfectly. so ask those around you.

I haven't had a problem with my Sprint service here in Iowa, but I did get a shitty signal in Chicago. I guess the service sucks all around there.

In regards to the V.70, that phone is purely flash. Its only single band meaning outside of a city you probably couldnt use it.

The V.60 is a nice flashy phone, but everyone and their brothers parents grandparents and third distant cousins has it. You will get a phone that works almost everywhere though, unless you get the V.60 GSM version from T-Mobile. If I go in the sticks where its only analog service, I cant make a call even to 911.

yea i wouldnt be surprised. service is very fickle for all providers, varying region to region. ask around your location and see what gets the best service. but in general it'd be verizon.
