I will not go into details about how this happened because it would hurt the reputation of a decent RX-7 shop. My Profec B was wired inot my passenger window wiring for a 12V source. This would be fine except if I hot my window lock on the drivers side it turns off my Boost controller.

When I was in Sebring 2 weels ago doing an Autocross I bumped my window switch in the pits. When I shifted to 3rd gear on the course doing a run my boost shot up to and beyond 2 bar!!! My Motec which is tuned to by monitoring the MAP almost handled it. At about 6K RPM the car started to break up. I let off the gas and babied it through the run. When I got into the pits I hit my peak hold and saw it peggad at 2 bar. I hooked up my laptop and downloaded my last run and it was not pretty I got pretty lean a couple of times.

I am off to Pettit Racing tomarrow to get a compression test. If it fails Pettit said they can do a rebuild in 3 days which will include a street porting and 3mm seals.

I also have the option of getting the engine dowled and I am considering this the only down fall is that it adds about a week to the rebuild timeframe.

I only put about 3K miles on this car after my 13B-REW swap. This really sucks because its gonna cost me some serious dough if it need a rebuild.

It sucks more because I have a driving school this weekend and this might be the second one in a row my car is not available for. I really want to have it here bacause the instructors friend always comes out and shows off with his S2000 and I want to wax his *** real good with my TII. Last school we ran my brothers GXL and it was neck and neck with the S2000 I can only imagine what my TII wil do to it.

Thanks for letting me vent I wish I felt better but I am still pissed!

You have no idea how bad I want this car this weekend just to whip on S2000 boys ***!!! He is a really cocky multi-national champ that needs to be put in his place by a newbie.

He has had 2 cars in the SCC Ultimate Street car challange. I think one of them was a Turbo Civic about 2 years ago.

For those of you not following Autocross. The S2000 is the new Corvette. The guys that own then have finally figured out how to get the most out of them as far as driving style goes. I totally respect a dude that can make a S2000 scream on an Autocross course they are very tail happy and take a lot of talent to push to their limits. I have always held that Corvettes, C-5's to be exact make a so so driver look great. I drove my dads on an Autocross course and they can do no wrong. No matter how deep you brake or how soon you punch it the car will forgive you. It sort of like driving a F-1 car the computer does all the thinking.

Does any one here have their engine dowled??? It sounds like a good thing to do especially if I want to turn up the boost eventually.

Yeah, well at least you did that youself. I hired a local RX-7 shop (Not Pettit) to install my Profec B. The only reason I hired them was so I could get some dyno time. At the time you needed to know someone to get on a dyno around here.

I expected a more prefessional install.
