Well I went and looked at another t2 vert and came to the conclusion that I cannot buy one that isnt ******* rigged.
Amy called me and said there was a new vert listed in the trader.... cheap I should take a look on the way home. Telling myself the entire journey that I didn't want an NA, etc, etc..... I decided to stop and take a quick look. This thing was beautiful and the price was right. Brand new leather seats, new streetported motor with 2,000 miles, can't pull real hard yet, but it's got some serious go. New top, exhaust, clutch, tires. A couple small issues, it has a crack in the one of the rear tail lights, it has a few scratches from a shopping cart on the right rear, no dents and one small rust spot which i will get fixed asap. It needs a radio and a stereo surround... yea and one cracked interior piece. So, can I bring myself to do the T2 project on this car, or do I start stripping the AE and make it my track car? Pics to follow. |

damn nice find! Renesis motor. Be different. Find a rolled/smashed rx8, take ECU and tranny. I hear the rx8 trannies are very similar in size and volume to our rx7s ones |

buy that other t2 vert, and swap engines! you get the nice body and the turbo moo-tor and then sell the new na motor in the crappy body. i know its like the most work, but its prolly really hot outside too!

Honestly I dont think you need a loner car. With our resources here I could find you an entire TII drivetrain sans the engine. Then do an RE swap with a standalone or have a Series 4 or 5 engine rebuilt and go fresh from there. |
If I do the t2 swap then yea, like you say I think we could find the parts.
By stripping the AE I meant, stripping everything out of it and making a dedicated track type car LOL I'm driving it tomorrow if I can ever get to sleep, it needs a bath, but I'll take you for a spin, actually pretty impressed with the streetport in it.... Who knows where I will do from here, need some time to think on things. Maybe one turbo track rx7 and one show car LOL |

I've done the break in thing on my FD, so that'd be really cool. I've never driven a vert! Convertibles are cool because if you fart you aren't inundated with stench.

Don't redo a clean vert. If your going to redo everything then whats wrong with a beater??? It takes as much work swap a oil soaked motor as it does a 2k motor thats just a little slow.

Well frankly, it will cost less to make a nice car they way you want it, as opposed to making a broken down rusted out shitbox the way you want it. One could spend thousands on bodywork and paint alone, however, since this car has nice paint, the money saved from not having to paint it can be put toward a turbo conversion, and/or an upgraded stereo system, or, perhaps a nice little weekend drinking binge with hookers in Atlantic City. |

I don't get this. Phinsup wants to take a clean vert and convert it to a TII. What is so bad about that? All the Swapped verts he looked at were shitboxes already. That is why he gave up and is considering doing the swap himself. |

funny because I gave up on buying a TII and selling my vert because all the TIIs were **** boxes, lol so I figure why not make MY car the way I want it to be! |

So what is so wrong with taking a really clean vert and swapping a turbo drivetrain into it? Everytime I see a Turbo swapped Vert I love it! Best of 2 worlds. |
