Just remember you can't drive your house but you can live in your car

Do you have another car to fall back on, or is the FD your only means of transportation? Cause if you have 2 cars then it is justifiable, otherwise its pretty much pointless to sell it only to downgrade.

some parts of the country $11,000 makes a damm good down payment on a house.

Lets see, keep a car that is only going to lose value, or get a house that will

gain in value and move out of the parents house or stop paying rent, tough choice?

That is something i have been thinking about this week long and hard. When will your 7 get to the point where it wont lose anymore value. I read when I bought my car that an Rx-7 is the only car rated by NADA that actually appreciates 3.7% a year(something like that). I would think so since their are only a handful left and getting harder to find everyday.

Back on topic I would definatly buy the house instead of the car. I support your desicion!

sold my fd along with other toys for this very exact reason years ago..

needless to say...one of my better decisions..replaced the loss thereafter..

although i might add the the fd sold is still sorely missed ..

I say that's a great idea... but...

why does everyone try to get more money out of their car? Well, depending what year your FD is, doesn'tnecessarily mean you should sell it almost as much as you payed for it.... It's not gonna happen, even if you put in nearly $5k or so in mods... JIMO.
