Well that was fun...

It's been a while, this post of course brings an end to our longest stretch of downtime in the history of the site.... hope everyone survived without requiring counseling.
So what happened? Well first off it couldn't have been worse timing, i had to head out of town friday night, when the forum went down I tried a couple quick fixes but it was very badly hacked. Luckily I though to myself i pay a fortune for support on this **** product ips turns out, so I put in a ticket 4 DAYS HAVE GONE BY and they still haven''t taken the time to get to my ticket. Trust me, we aren't the only ones that were caught by this one. So I left town with the hopes that they would fix it and I would come home to a working forum. No such luck and and being on the water with no internet didn't give me any option to fix it myself.
What i did was a full reinstall then I imported our existing database. Good news is NO DATA WAS LOST. The mysql db was backed up and as it turns out it was effected.
What we don't have is the skins or mods. No arcade, no shoutbox, no registry, gallery or shoutbox, I will get the gallery, blogs and registry back up as soon as I can, the others will have to wait as I need to be sure they post no security risk.
So thanks for your patience and let's hope IPS can get their act together on this forum software or we are going to have to make a move to someother brand.

With the pathetic lack of support I got from invision on this round I am honestly considering a move to vbulletin, there are some pretty big drawbacks to that, we would lose the gallery and the registry. I would install new versions, but the current data would be lost.
I don't really know what to do, but it appears that if we will ever have to go through this again I will not get any support from IPS, even though I pay for it.

the thing that trouble's me is I have no confidence in this product at this point. I feel like i have to be glued to my computer waiting for the next security patch, which may or may not be fixed prior to our getting hacked.
Then the fact that i have no piece of mind due to the total lack of support when needed also makes me very uneasy.... so yea
