Edit: Just one of the possible applications, according to the site it'd run on just about anything, and use hydrogen better than any other engine specifically planned for the fuel.

ok, this sounded really cool. considering it rotates around a definite center, rather than an eccentric shaft I was thinking that the rpm range would be outrageous. But then at the end of the article, it said that 6,000rpm would be out of its operational range???



I was also thinking that a transmission could be made to fit in the center cavity, which would make the design extremely compact

They made one powering a chainsaw, according to a general rotary information page somewhere else. I guess a transmission in the middle might be a better idea than a furnace for steam, heh.

I think it don't spin too fast because it's a flexible rotor, not a solid one.

 

could you imagine if the tranny was in the middle, and it made as much power as the 13b? You could have the ultimate go cart!

 

Or or a really nice, lightweight motor for my bicycle project with a great rpm range. Too bad they're only selling a few prototypes to academic institutions, governments, and major corporations so far, and looking for a business partner to sell chainsaws running on compressed air.
