Mazdadrifter and I took a spin in my FC Saturday to go pick up his Wolf 3D system from Fast Import Cars a speed shop about 1 hour south of us in Pompano Florida.

We were on our way back and I was getting on it as I was taking the on ramp for I-95 in Jupiter. I was winding out 4th and hitting about 130+. I let off of it and looked up in my rear view mirror and I see a car coming up on me pretty quick. It looked like it might be an older El Camino. I was coming down past 90MPH and settled in at about 85.

We let the car pass and it was a really old station wagon with flowmaster stickers on the back window. Mazdadrifter and I just looked at each other and started to laugh. We played with him a little purely out of boredom. The thing that alarmed me was the fact that he was doing 120+ at times and that car had no business going that fast.

That's kinda like what happened to me yesterday...

I was on my way to my friend's house to help him install his Apex'i AVC-R. Well, once I got on Hwy 54, I hit a few lights and got behind an LX Mustang. The guy burned out at every light.

First of all, I wanted to ask the guy if he knew that he was driving an LX Mustang. Second of all, I wanted to ask him if he knew he didn't have any business driving his LX like it was a GT.

It gets better when we were playing with the Station wagon a Honda Accord started tagging along. His car was blowing all kinds of smoke from the front like when your engine is in the process of blowing. Again WTF!

you do know you could get a LX mustang with the same engine

and mechanicals as a Mustang GT right?

The LX 5.0s were actually a bit quicker because they were a tad lighter

then the GT.

That reminds me of when Popular Mechanics put an LT1 into a Buick Roadmaster wagon. It surprised everyone.

It was the most recent body-style mustang. Definitely no V8 in that.

The newer Mustangs don't have an LX trim, do they? I thought that was just in the Fox-bodies. The newer ones have the 3.8L V6, not the 4-cyls like th eold LX's did. I think they are just called "Mustang" and "Mustang GT" now, instead of "Mustang LX" and "Mustang GT".

But then again, I could be wrong.

Yeah, maybe they have a different naming convention, I just refer to them as LXs, oh well!
