Here is a great example of how ignorant (and amusing) some people can be. This is a conversation with my anonymous friend.
(for a little background) Precluding this text, which has been excerpted from an AIM converstion, I was discussing with him my interest in a 1986-1991 Mazda RX7 Turbo II.

ME: BNR Stage IV Turbo Upgrade - 725
BNR Stage II Clutch Upgrade - 300
[4] Bosch 1650cc fuel injectors - 440
Walbro Intank Fuel pump - 110
Street Port - ?
Full Exhaust - 750
FMIC - ?
Boost Controller - 400
Microtech - 500
ME: so anyway
ME: those things are what im thinking of getting
ME: well
ME: just as a general idea
ME: nothing near final yet
FRIEND: what price range are you aiming for?
ME: for the car, or the car + stuff
FRIEND: car
ME: urmmm
ME: less than 4k would be really cool, i could prolly do that
ME: id prolly b replacin the engine anyway, if this one website is really truly gonna sell me a street ported engine for $2800
FRIEND: r u gonna race it then?
FRIEND: all those performance parts are low quality, for the most part
FRIEND: you gotta constantly fix that **** up, thats what sucks about it though
ME: they *are* low quality? (sarcastic voice)
FRIEND: most parts yea, so they are cheap
ME: so, *now* you're a car expert? (sarcastic voice)
FRIEND: nope
ME: oh, so i guess its by divine inspiration that you know this.. (sarcasm)
FRIEND: you can know a thing or two and not be an expert
ME: well, knowing that a car runs on four wheels and gasoline could be considered a 'thing or two'
FRIEND: no, but jareds sister dates a street racer (BAHAHH! now hes a f*ing expert cause his friends sister dates a 'street racer')
FRIEND: the guy has like 5 cars he races
FRIEND: you learn a lot from a guy that lives doing it
ME: is he a street racer, or a ricer...
FRIEND: racer. (after seeing him drool over a neon with decals down the side and a GT wing big enough to hang laundry from, I don't think he knows what rice is..)
FRIEND: lol
FRIEND: i learn from what ppl tell me.
FRIEND: most ppl that know a lot abuot cars.
FRIEND: some of those people might hook up my car just because its a supra and they dont want it to suck. (note: he doesn't even own a car, but *may* get a supra in a few weeks)
FRIEND: thats the kind of money they have, they can just throw it around
ME: some of what people
FRIEND: jared sister mandy, shes dating a guy that makes like $80,000 month (note: 'mandy' is 18. her boyfriend cant be that much older.)
FRIEND: everytime ive seen him over, hes in a different car
FRIEND: lol
(I multiply 80,000 by 12)
ME: somehow im doubting he makes ten million dollars a year......
FRIEND: i dunno, hes got lots of cars and ****
FRIEND: nice ones
FRIEND: lots
FRIEND: i think he makes it illigally...
FRIEND: im guessing selling drugs or something....and racing
(getting back to the 'low quality parts' issue..)
ME: im pretty sure that i dont have to pay waaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy over price for everything just to get 'high quality'
ME: i could pay $5,000 dollars for a different exhaust
ME: but the $750 one is still made out of metal
ME: metal tubes
ME: thats pretty much what it is
ME: im not so sure that the $5000 metal tubes will last THAT much longer than the $750 metal tubes
FRIEND: different grades of metal ya know.
FRIEND: some have more of a stronger metal mixed in, something like that
FRIEND: some weight more too
FRIEND: some weight less
(note: he actually, and probably accidentally, ade some sense about the weight! too bad the incorrect use of grammar overshadows the partially successfull attempt..)

ME: rocks hitting underneath?
FRIEND: i dunno, dont ask me
FRIEND: ask the ppl that buy them

$800 for a supra? so in this case supra refers to a geo metro correct?
oh and 80k times 12 is far from 10million.
but yes i know people that stupid as well, but they provide good laughs you must admit lol.
