yup...how do you think the "Audi" symbol came about? them 4 circles used to be "Auto union" the 4 major German brands that got togather...

Back in good old Bakersfield, CA theres a silver bug owned by the Hudson Brothers. I think it's about a 66 but that's kinda pointless as it's NOT stock and only someone who loves VW's could tell em apart anyways. (62 was the 1st year of the standard mechanical fuel gage for example, 67 is when they went to the 12v system and is the only year for the wheel well vents)

They would never say exactly what the motor was, but it was dynoing around 560hp at the wheels. It would SCARE you as to how fast it would go.

Far as I know they still have it, but don't run it often. Could you blame them, that's just too much power for a tiny car even if you do work on the brakes and suspension and...

My ex has a 67, those vents come in handy on a hot day. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

If you look at the front of most 60's bugs they have these little vents which were later used for the horn. In fact I think VW litrature calls them horn grills. On 67's they have a tube that runs into the car, if you look in the fronts you'll see these white plastic covers that can be moved and allow you to vent the air in.

I don't remember if it was one of the half way changes or not.

67's can be a pain. One half the year they used one type of deck lid, the next half a different one. Door handles changed mid year, 6 to 12 volt came mid year and there's some odd engine changes...well if you keep the stock engine.

67 master cylinders can be impossible to come by. For a 67 bus you may as well do an aftermarket brake conversion, it'd be easier then finding the part.

Geesh. I know to much about em. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Yah it was, 67 only and I'm thinking only a certain run. I'll have to go looking for my pictures of Clyde...(I didn't name the car so don't look at me!)
