RX-8....And to all you who voted for the STI or EVO, You're hurting your chances at a
fourth gen, if this car fails, which it probably will anyway, though it's a great car, there will likely be no more 7's....The STI and EVO are both damn good cars, but my god, every car on the market (sans rotary cars) are based on the same technology.... If you really wanted to support a fourth gen, you'd at least vote for the 8 BECAUSE of the rotary..not that it really matters, I really doubt there will be a 4th gen..Ford is a cruel
master, they had to add 2 doors and a backseat just to get the 8 out.....

Now, I have driven both, and while I was very impressed with the RX8, I would take an STi over it any day of the week. I havent driven an Evo or 350Z yet, so I cant compare.
Check this out if any of you are worried about the 4th gen.
Sorry to say, but what a pointless topic.
"It is like asking if you would rather be a vegan than eat meat."
I would take an RX-8 for free. I don't want an EVO,350Z,or STI. If I really wanted a piston engine, I would pick up a classic automobile, like a Camaro SS or RS. The rotary engine will never replace the piston engine, nor will the piston engine replace the rotary. Rotary is in a league of its own. When you look at it. You have 4 different "types" of motors, not like 10a,12a,13b,13-re,13b-rew,20b,26b. You only have from one rotor to a 4 rotor application. And a piston engine has from a 3 cylinder to a V12. Let's be realistic now, how many off us are pushing around town in a 20b or 26b, and how many of us are pushing around with a v10 or a v12. Kind of a stupid poll to me, and a stupid question. People have opinions, I will use my RX-7 for my fun car and weekend driver, and my 1984 Ford F-150 for my work truck. I work outside in dirt, mud, grease, oil, tranny fluid, and whatnot and i dont want that **** in my RX-7.
Damn, I just babbled on about pointless ****.
RX-8 ALL THE WAY!!....I don't want to see a 4th gen rx-7. I wanna see a 20th anniversary with more production numbers than the 10AE. That is my .02 cents.

Rotaryman and myself went to the Mazda dealer to play with the 8s and they said that Mazda was going to introduce 2 new cars in the 2006 lineup. A new larger SUV and a rotary powered sports car. They dont know if its going to be another version of the RX8 or the RX9. But I am planning on buying a RX8. They are awesome. I would take it over an EVO and STi anyday, even a third gen.
And also, off the subject, the Mazdaspeed Miata isnt too bad of a car either. Its $3K more than the NA Miata with 50 extra ponies. But its still a Miata so you wouldnt see me in one.

The thing the 8 carried over from the 7 is the snug drivers cockpit feel. The shifter console surrounds you completly and it makes you feel, I can't believe I'm gonna say this, loved.
