Launching may not be that great, but the engine is over the drive wheels...read: NSX, MR2, the like.

Problem is weight transfer, even though the engine is on the drive wheels, the power created from the engine still propels the car forward...the weight transfers to the rear and traction is removed from the drive wheels. Another thing is that the drive wheels and the wheels that are used in turning and braking are all the same, leading to added stress to the front tires. And the inefficiency of having rear tires that dont do anything but keep the *** end from dragging on the ground upsets me.
