So I am thinking of using VOIP to save on longdistance calls. Anyone using this for home or work have any input?

The uncle/aunt have something called Skype and they swear by it.

unless the tower is down and you don't get signal ... I dunno I'm just adding in the only downside. It would really suck if it just happens that you have a heartattack and the cell tower is down at the same time that would be bad ya know?

 

dont be like people calling into my work swearing we fucked up their DSL when they got VOIP and canceled their phone line.... idiots... voip is only cool if you have cable and can remove all phone lines =D saves money if you make alot of long distance other than that its no different

 

Get a cellphone plan with free long distance?



Skype is apparently really, really good. Generally if /. thinks it's good, it really is.
