Visiting The Grandparents
#1
Well on the drive on I80 West was a major pain in the ***. There was a huge rainstorm in the chicago area last night, and the interstate flooded! They diverted 4 lanes of traffic into the southern suburbs of chicago until well after 2:00AM. We drove approximately 10 miles in 2 hours. It was the largest traffic jam I have ever seen. While we were trying to figure out where to go a transformer exploded right in front of us, trees were down everywhere, it was nuts.
When we finally found a gas station that was open, there was a guy inside who was saying it was the worst rainstorm he had ever seen, he said he couldn't even see across the street it was raining so hard. The winds apparently took down 60 year old trees. Needless to say it was the most frustrating driving experience I've ever been in.
Now, I'm in the wonderful state of Iowa visiting my grandparents who I have not seen in 3 years, and have a "wonderful" 56k internet connection.
Well, sorry for the long post, dinner is ready and I'm hungry.
