I have a buddy in Minnesota with a old el camino . He tells me in that area he has been quoted over 5k for a two paint job on his Elco.

you could take it to a local les schwab or Maaco to get a cheap *** race car paint job, they run specials for like 199 or 299 for the "primo" you drop it off you pick it up you pay them $200 it looks a little better the roller or "wrap", seems win win, it would probably cost you that much just to buy the materials and rattle can or roller it.

a race car paint job, isn't a "real" paintjob, any hack can "paint" a car. A "real" paint job requires skill.

A guy I know works at a local shop that does vinyl. He said they now have a painted vinyl that looks like nice paint, but can be peeled off, but it costs something like $3k for a car.



It's actually a painted vinyl, so you get the custom look of any type of paint code you like, with the ability to peel it off later when you choose. Very cool stuff for those wanting to change the color of a vehicle and don't want to do anything permanent.
