Yeah, I saw a lot of understeer too, but it's all good. It still looked like tons of fun.

Wow, looks like somebody needs some more seattime. But that's where the fun it. Practicing.

Understeering sucks, huh? Don't fight the car into it sliding it. Too much gas with a perfectly balanced like a 7 will either cause understeer or oversteer depending on whatever end of the car the weight is being transferred to. Way too much gas with your amount of power will spin the tires too much to control. Use weight transfer and not so much gas pedal to initiate a slide. That's how the low powered guys do it. Once you hit the sweet spot you'll know it. Lucky you that there is DGTA by you. I think it's a better deal than the SpeedTrial and DriftDay events in Cali.

yeah i dunno if its me or what, but those events dont look like a lot of fun to go to?

Well, they are. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.png

Go to them and you'll see. It might not be so much fun the first time or two due to the learning curve (developing a whole new set of driving skills) but it's a helluva a lot of fun once things start clicking. They're much more fun to participate in than to merely watch.

If you aren't a professional driver where driving well puts food on the table, then don't take it too seriously. Have fun with it. That's what drifting is about - having fun. If it looks good from the spectators point of view then all the better.

vosko - running with POS tires might be good for those new at this to get a feel for when the car starts to give out, but they'll only take you so far. Once you get better, get better tires. They'll give you much more control during a slide. With POS tires, once they let go, that's about it. Good tires still have grip even when they're letting go. Well, I'm sure you know that but too many people preach about using POS tires and how they're the way to go.
