OK so amy was driving through the parking lot a couple weeks ago, guy starts backing out, she honks, he keeps going and hits her. Says he doesn't want to give insurance, he'll pay cash here's my DL etc, etc.... I go get an estimate and it's $790, not bad really you can't have an accident for less than that these days. So Amy faxes him the estimate and he says that's too much, you need to get three estimates, I then call the guy and say "look we were doing you a favor, but I'm not driving around to three shops to save you some money" he says "Well that's how it works, you get three estimates" of course that pissed me off, so I said "That isn't how it works, how it works is I go to my insurance company file a claim, they go to your insurance and get money, I take to it to the shop of MY choice and get my car fixed". He just says "that's fine". So we call old GEICO and they call progressive, progressive calls him and he says "I was backing up.." and they pretty much said, hold it right there that's all we need to know, they call us and drive out to us and estimate the car, cut a check, etc. etc.... now here's the funny part, their estimate comes out to he $898.00 LOL almost $100 MORE then the one I gave the ******* guy. I almost wanted to call him up on the phone and go HA HA **********er you're more stupid then you thought! but alas i did not.

So i'm going to have all the dents pulled and the whole car repainted. I have not decided on the color, I want something classy, maybe a metallic silver or light blue/gray not sure. Skies the limit on the color it's gotta be something classy for a classic benz!!!

holy smokes. i did not think that you could dent a panzer wagon. i did have a friend that borrowed his in-laws 300 TD to go skiing, and when they were done for the day, the car would not start. He somehow deduced that if he warmed the engine oil, the car would turn over faster. ( i think the post skiing tequila solos might have played a part in his thinking process). Anyway, after the lit the pan of 50/50 diesel oil/gasoline under the oil pan, all of the residual oil under the car caught fire and the front valance and bumper caught too. i think the damage might have been more than 900 bucks.

It is still a story for thanksgiving and christmas family get togethers.

not really on topic, but felt the need to share.

oh, for those that wondered, throwing snow on a plastic/oil fire does absolutely no good.

I had something similar, girl rearends me, says she'll pay out of pocket, I get 3 estimates, she says no way it's that much you're in cahoots with the body shops and trying to rip me off...blah blah blah I'm a stupid bitch. She says "I'll pay the body shop rather than pay you" because she says that I could use the money on something else. I'm

People like that **** ME OFF. I'm basically doing the guy a favor, when someone does you a favor you don't make demands of them. If you say yer gonna be out of town could you mow the lawn for while i'm gone and I say sure, you don't then proceed to tell me to go down to the home depot and buy a lawnmower.

BTW for the record here guys, when someone hits and you drive off you cannot call the cops once you've left the scene. If you run into something like this, get the guys info, get his insurance, get his dl and plate, if he refuses call the cops, BECAUSE if I didn't have full coverage on the Benz i would have completely fucked, i would have had no way to file a claim.

my friend tapped my FB once with his FD, it put a teeny little crease that didnt even scuff the paint in the FD's door and quarter panel. it tore the bumper off the FB and destroyed the fender...

Oops, got my post cut off.

I'm sure you could guess what happened though, I contacted her insurance company and filed a claim, got a check and the mail. Spent it on bills or something, the damaged was a barely-noticeable scratch from her front plate.

Funny though, when getting estimates, the guy told me the girl called earlier in the day trying to get a quote over the phone, for similar damage to a car with the same description as the one I was driving, to see if I was lying. Crazy bitch.
