That's BS I have never understood why a company can't just say, "Thank you for the time and hardwork you put in, good luck" or something to that effect. Do they honestly believe that you as an employee owe's them something?

Yeah it really is bullshit, their attitude is clearly in the wrong. Especially the amount of hard work and dedication I put into my job. Since I also knew all the budgets, took care of billing, and put together proposals, I know that in the past 3 1/2 years they have made roughly 500k from my work. Not that I wish them bad luck, but I know that if they don't get someone in there soon to take care of things they will end up losing a lot of that new work they just got. If they were smart they would have let me stay for the final 4 months to help out like I suggested.
