I drove down to the coast this past weekend, saw some damage from hurricane Dennis. What I wonder is, what happens if you own a piece of land, and that land gets washed out to sea? Is there such a thing as land insurance (dirt insurance?)?

Exactly! And then when something does happen, they punish you for it by increasing your premium. It's like "Ok we're going to charge you insurance - what do you mean you had an accident! This wasn't part of the deal, we're going to have to charge you more money."
