ok he's in trouble for alluding to the "good old days" of jim crow and segragation at strom thurmonds 100th birthday. they say that trent lot bringing up segragation as the good old days is unnacceptable, but how what about mr thurmond? he ran a presidential campaign IN the good old days, and we dont have a problem with that, shouldn't we? or how come strom thurmond can be a bigot in the senate for half a century and thats ok, but mr lot making a "joke*" is unacceptable?

It is basically the KKK for the white collar whitey and Trent is one of their card carrying members.
The guy is a piece of work, I agree with you though, those were the first words out of my mouth, at first I thought maybe the guy was trying to say that thurman would have made a good pres. but after reading about Trent's background, I'd have to say he meant that life would be better if we had of kept segregation, the guy is a racist, no doubt about it, the only reason he is apologizing is because the republican party wants to yank his *** out as majority leader.

All the while looking over other members of Congress who are racists as well quite a few of them democrats.
Last I checked free speech was still on the books. Granted I don't agree with what Lott said and figure that the speaker for the party should have better manners then that so he'll be out when the vote comes up. Still if they're going to bust one why not bust em all?
