I don't know, seems that everybody uses their Motorsports backgrounds to further street car development. BMW's SMG gearbox, Ferrari's F1 gearbox, the McLaren F1 is a racecar in disguise, the F50 is what Ferrari intended for a street F1 car but got messed up with emissions. The Focus RS is basically a rally car for the street, so why should it be any different from NASCAR, afterall, it's the only thing American car manufacturers have.
Do you know what a NASCAR chassis looks like?

They use carburetors fer chrissake!

The only thing "stock" about them is the roofline is supposed to vaguely follow the same outline as the stock car.

Dodge Intrepid Stock car. - Street car FWD Hmmm....

No NASCAR USED to have street cars on the track those days are long gone. Now they have tube framed race cars that somewhat resemble a street car.... sort of...

What technology do you think Nascar could possibly use on their production cars. The track cars are dinosaurs!!

I think its gonna be funny to see Solera's soundly kicking Chevy and Fords asses on the track. It will not last the big 3 have a habit of banning cars when they are getting beat by them.

Look at Indy and the Miller. This guy comes along and independent builds a FWD Supercharged car that just whoops the big 3's asses off. What do they do?? don't rise to the challenge...... BAN THEM!!

I have no respect for car companies that are afraid to go toe to toe.

I can just imagine the arguments going on over at Nascars headquarters right now trying to keep toyota out.

nascar cars are a rwd tube frame. they have a solid rear axle and a 4 speed manual hooked to a carburated 358 cubic inch v8 making 650hp. they use a sheet metal body that "resembles" a production car. they wiegh about 3800lbs.

f1 cars without ballast are in the 1450lbs range. race wieght i think is 750kg or 1650lbs, and they make 750+hp from a 3.5 liter engine

oh and by the way, if you ****** idiots KNEW ANYTHING about the racing business, the fastest, most technologically intriging motor i have ever seem was a VERY modern Winston cup motor, not a air valve cosworth HFD F1 motor, or a pre-WWII bmw. Consider this...... F1 teams are losing technical directors and engineers that goto nascar teams because they have become bored of F1, if you knew anything
