REPU pwns all.....hrm...that does sound odd doesn't it, if everyone of us could afford an FD I'm sure this post wouldn't be here, I personally like all 3 generations tho I've only drove a 2nd gen...they all were gorgeous in their way and had their strengths and weaknesses, I beat the hell out of my 87 and only had alternator/electrical problems when I had it.....if anyone wants to bring one of each gen to let me drive for a day, I'll pass judgement :P

Might wanna tell that to the $15k+ worth of parts sitting upstairs in my room, or to rob whos just finishing off the $8k+ paint and bodywork.
Ill gladly drive out to OK when the cars finished, itlll most likely be running this winter, the only reason its taking so long is i havent had the car in my posssesion since september so ive been taking my time with the motor.
As for some real reasons the fd sucks:
1) Heaviest 7
2) Turbo Systems is more complicated and problem-prone then the entire motor
3) Makes peoples heads enlarge dramatically
4) Owners = embarassing
5) Can they say DIY? no, no they cant.
6) "OMG this shop screwed me"
7) "I tried finding a vacuum leak....where does this go"
8) "my mechanic said my head gasket....."
9) Every ricer wants one
10) about 75% of them have shopping cart wings.

12) Cramped engine bay, i think so

That's what happens when you don't learn anything about what you're working on before you try to take it apart. Five minutes of pre-tear down research can save you five hours of "what the hell is this thingy, and do I really need it" later on.
