Top Reasons Fd Suck!

[quote name='1988RedT2' date='Jul 18 2005, 09:18 AM']Well, all this talk about how FC's suck has made me mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore.
Top reasons FD's suck:
1) They are the RX-7 that killed the RX-7 in the US. The FB was a huge sales success, the FC a moderate success, the FD was a dismal failure.
2) By making the FD, Mazda turned a fairly reliable car into a whiny demanding bitch--a trait the car shares with most of it's owners.
Shall I go on?

Okay, it's on!
1) FD's lack of sales was due to something out of it's control. It's what killed the Supra, the 300zx, and anything else in it's class. It was the hype and shift to the SUV market. Nothing to do with the FD vs. the FC/FB's. Nice try, though.
2) By making the FD, Mazda turned a fairly underpowered (i.e. Slow) engine into a competitive force to be reckoned with. I suppose they should have left the motor alone and used the TII setup against rival HP and track numbers like a 320HP supra? Riight. Or perhaps used the 3-Rotor engine but then post gas mileage numbers in the single digits accross the board?
I thought all of the FB/FC/FD bashing was a joke but if you want to play hardball I'm game.

[quote name='defprun' date='Jul 18 2005, 11:00 AM']God shutup they all rule. But the fb rocks cause its small and retains something the latter 7s dont have.
BEING SMALL.

Agreed.
However I've driven an FB and own an FD and felt the opposite as to the way it "felt". FD feels solid as a rock, FB sounded and felt like it was going to fall apart. I love its small size and "Go-Kart" feel, as far as the drive go's.

two reasons FDs suck, is the price, and tarnishing the rotary reputation for reliability.
Original FD owners payed through the nose for maintenance, parts, and engines. So it drove up the price of used FDs.
And true or not, the FD is known to have a 60k mile engine(I personally dont believe that)
