Just curious if Top Gear ever did a video on any generation of the RX-7? If so, does anybody have a link?

They compared the Porsche 944 with the 2nd gen NA. The STIG wasn't around though.

did they do another one?

 

I'm sure they did, they've certainly been around long enough as has been said. That was when the theme tune was actually the Allman Bros. song.

I have the huge Clarksons Top 100 cars countdown vid (Like 45 min and high quality too...woot) and the Rx7 is pretty high (well low #) on the list, I think in the top 20 or so...



I've always wondered (and searched, to no avail) the same

 

So they have driven it? I'm guessing this would have to be the FD? But no vid for the test.

 

Yea, how could they not! I know they have, but just...no proof of it!



Well in that compilation vid he does review some in person, but half of the time its just a quick picture and short blurb about a car. I forget what he says about the FD but it only recieved a picture and not an actual test drive.



I know for a fact he loves the Rx8 despite the odd coupe/sedan merge styling.

 

Yeah i remember the RX8 episode. When I saw it I thought he was going to bag it and get them to drive it off a cliff or something.

 

Haha, yea. He's always either super-praising a vehicle or just plain killing it. He'll be like "This is the best sports car, ever made...EVER." then get in another car "There is nothing like this car, this is the best performance vehicle you will ever encounter!" :P



I loved his review of the Crossfire, I couldn't agree more!

 

yeah but thats what makes top gear so endearing, they never come to a neutral decision about the car, its either the best thing ever built, or complete trash
