So I met Fritz at a local classic car meet, and saw his beautifully stock FD. I've seen many pictures on the internet, but it's a huge difference getting in the car, and seeing the whole picture together. The driver's seat is like a snug cockpit compared to my FC. Everything about it is far superior to my car.



me: "hey man, I'd pay you to take me for a ride in your car"

fritz: "why don't you take it for a spin?"

me: "....!?!?..."



I apologize, Fritz, but I don't think I shut my mouth the entire time I was in the driver's seat, I was so excited. I didn't get to take any twisties, or race the trans-am egging us on, but I could feel the power when I would stomp on the gas. And it was surpisingly smooth! I expecting a lot of lurching going on my first time engaging the clutch, but it was very forgiving.

Before I bought my old FD, I took it for a test drive 3 time's, and after every test drive, I was shaking like a crack addict. It's not that I was scared, it was the sound of the car, the speed, the way it looked, everything. Not to mention, I was only 18yr's old, and being able to afford the car was pretty far fetched. 2 week's later, and a couple of miracle's from God, and it was mine.



Everyone should get the opportunity to drive one of these car's, they won't forget it.

I was 17 When I first drove a FD. My mom And I where taking my dog to the vet and we passed by a Used Import Dealership. I was like look mom they have a FD on the lot. So she was like do you wanna go look at it. I was like sure. SO we went in, he did the credit check, and he handed her the keys, she drove first. Then we got to a long backroad. She let me drive. I was so excited that before I knew it I was going 65 and climbing it was so fun.

Wish i could drive one, soon!!!! I saw one today thats exactly what i want. Solid black with black int, greddy exhaust, and 35k original miles.....20k. Shame i have to wait till jan.

Damn yall!! Already I am having Turbo Withdrawls. My engine is blown and I am working on it right now. But looks like it might be a month till it is drivable again

Why in January?



I will have enough for an FD in january, but am waiting until the spring....why? Because an FD deserves to be garaged in the winter in the NE IMO. I tried to keep the Mr2-T on the road in the winter, but even on those days there is no snow on the ground, the roads are still pretty crappy given dirt/salt and parking lots in general.



Maybe the end of the winter would be great, before we get Spring Prices (Winter=cheaper). So save up more, wait till Feb-March I'd say...



Just a thought.

Its already a stretch to make my stang last that long, winter doesnt get to bad in s NJ. I have to have a job for 6 months b4 my dad will cosign on her, jan is 6.

Not bad in NJ? Didn't you guys get hit worse than us? And we aren't even that bad (1 hour north/west of NYC, I'm not in albany though, albany's 2 hours north).



I hear ya though, I said the same thing with my mr2-t. I didn't think it was worthy of being garaged, but even some MKI Mr2 owners garaged theirs, and I'm thinking of doing that with the FD. Given this past winter was horrible...but sometimes we get very little snow. I'll have to see about it....

I'm not saying its not worthy of being garaged, as far as that thought goes id never drive the thing. But i have a jeep dude, a BIG jeep. im not worried bout it.
